CME has been acquired by Wirquin / Force 5 SAS

Arrowpoint Advisory's Industrial sector team has advised the shareholders of CME Sanitary Systems on the sale of the company to French group, Force 5, owner of Wirquin, which is an established European competitor of CME.

Doncaster-based CME was established in January 2008 through the management buy-out of Polypipe Sanitary Systems a transaction on which Arrowpoint Advisory also advised. CME is the leading independent manufacturer of toilet seats, cisterns, valves and flushing components for use in sanitary ware, sold under the well known Celmac and Macdee brands. It is also the leading global supplier of Ecoplay, the innovative grey water management system that reduces water usage and is approved for UK Code 6.

The deal sees the existing management team remain with CME to continue driving the company forward within the Force 5 group.

Jeremy Furniss, Managing Director at Arrowpoint Advisory added: We have worked with the CME management team successfully during the last six years, both before and after the MBO, so were delighted to have the chance to do so again. This is a good fabulous example of Arrowpoint Advisory's international transacting capability and the faith put in us by owner managers to advise them on the key decisions for their businesses. The partnership with Wirquin puts the CME business on a new footing and will bring significant benefits to customers, staff and the shareholders.”
