The Consumer, Retail and Leisure team of Arrowpoint Advisory, the UK mid-market team of Rothschild & Co, has advised Scottish luxury leather brand Strathberry on securing growth investment from Soho Square.
Founded in 2013 by husband-and-wife duo Guy and Leeanne Hundleby, Strathberry is a luxury leather brand headquartered in Edinburgh, Scotland. Known for its commitment to craftsmanship and thoughtful design, Strathberry has established itself as one of the most recognised names and fastest growing brands in the fashion luxury market.
The investment from Soho Square marks an important milestone for the Scottish brand’s next stage of growth, following a year of incredible success, delivering a 39% YoY growth rate FY25 to FY26, with revenues reaching £50.5 million in FY26. The strong FY26 performance builds on Strathberry’s established growth trajectory. Over the past three years, the business has delivered a CAGR of 43%, underscoring the brand’s continued momentum and international appeal.
Guy and Leanne Hundleby, Co-Founders at Strathberry, commented: “This investment marks an incredibly exciting chapter for Strathberry. Since founding the business, our ambition has always been to build a global brand with a distinct point of view, while staying rooted in our commitment to exceptional craftsmanship, creativity and thoughtful design. This partnership gives us the opportunity to accelerate that vision and invest in the next phase of our growth. We look forward to working closely with David and the whole team at Soho Square Capital.”
Guy and Leeanne Hundleby will continue to retain control of the business, supported by Managing Director, Martin Byrne, and the brand’s senior leadership team. David Steel from Soho Square will join the board of Strathberry. Working with Soho Square to draw on its capital, strong expertise and support will allow Strathberry to further expand its global retail footprint with its international store roll out.
Strathberry currently operates four physical UK stores in iconic locations across London and Edinburgh. Further expansion is planned for FY27 with two new stores set to join the brand’s portfolio, one in London and Strathberry’s first international location opening in New York next year. This marks the first step in the brand’s US bricks-and-mortar expansion strategy, with a focus on securing further prime retail locations across its largest global market. The brand ships to over 100 countries and is stocked at a curated list of leading retailers worldwide. This investment marks a second round of funding for the Scottish brand, following its 2022 to 2026 investment partnership with BGF.
Guy went on to add: “Rothschild & Co were a valued partner to Strathberry throughout the process, providing useful sector insight, thoughtful advice and a practical approach. Their experience was particularly valuable in helping us navigate a complex macro environment, while remaining focused on finding the right long-term partner for the business. We are delighted with the outcome and grateful to the team for their support and for and helping us secure the right outcome for Strathberry and its future.”
Lara Damian, Assistant Director at Arrowpoint, said: “We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Guy, Leeanne and the wider Strathberry team. From the outset, we were struck by the clarity of their ambition, the strength of the brand they have built and, above all, the calibre of the team behind it. Strathberry has established a distinctive position in a highly competitive market, with significant potential to build on that foundation internationally. We have been delighted to support the team through this stage of their journey and look forward to seeing the business realise its considerable global potential.”
Simon Cope-Thompson, Managing Director at Arrowpoint, concluded: “Strathberry has evolved from a distinctive Scottish luxury leather goods brand into an increasingly recognised international name, while retaining the creativity and authenticity at the heart of its identity. With a strong platform, an ambitious leadership team and significant headroom for further international expansion, Strathberry is exceptionally well placed for its next phase of growth as it transitions from BGF to Soho Square Capital as its new institutional partner.”
