Interclean has been acquired by Securiplan plc
Arrowpoint Advisory announce the sale of bus cleaning company Interclean to the major U.K. independent security and cleaning group, Securiplan.
Newbury-based Interclean, which cleans 25 bus depots and 3,500 buses every night, including 40% of London's single and double deckers, has succeeded in its niche market in a spectacular manner through its appreciation that there is more to bus cleaning than wielding mop and bucket.
Since the business was founded five years ago by entrepreneur Tony Hannan, specially trained Interclean teams have been providing a service that not only prepares the vehicles for the travelling public but also involves handling their movement within the garages to correctly position them for their efficient entry into service the following morning.
Daniel Domberger, Managing Director at Arrowpoint Advisory says: “There was significant interest in the Company, due in no small measure to the fact that it had overcome the shortcomings of its rivals in this niche sector.”
“They had not appreciated the organisational and health and safety procedures that such a demanding and busy workplace required, over and above the actual cleaning process. By applying its unique organisational skills and insights to this issue, the Company became a leading supplier to clients including the First and Go Ahead groups, United and NCP - names that proved attractive to a number of potential new partners.”
Securiplan plc specialises in the provision of security staff and services including complete site security reviews and the design of bespoke electronic security systems to a variety of industry sectors in the U.K.
Chief Executive Phillip Ullman, says: “Our strategy is to grow our security business organically whilst expanding into new markets as a quality provider of bundled manpower services, including cleaning, catering, mechanical and electrical maintenance service.”
The Interclean deal follows rapidly on the heels of two other FM transactions completed by Arrowpoint Advisory's Business Services sector team: the acquisition of Midlands-based SPI by Lyceum Capital and of DC Group by Sovereign Capital, both providers of support services to the social housing sector.
