Arrowpoint Advisory’s Industrials sector team has advised AVK, one of the largest and fastest-growing suppliers of innovative power solutions for data centres and AI infrastructure in the UK and Europe, on its investment of over USD 1 billion from Partners Group, one of the largest firms in the global private markets industry, acting on behalf of its clients.
As part of the transaction, Partners Group will back AVK's growth with a majority investment and provide significant capital to fund the buildout of the on-site infrastructure under an EaaS model for data centre operators.
AVK is one of the largest and fastest-growing suppliers of innovative power solutions for data centres and AI infrastructure in Europe and the UK. They specialise in all aspects of design, planning, implementation, and continuing maintenance. With offices and hubs across the UK and Europe, AVK is in a strong position, in terms of operational scale and delivery capabilities to tackle complex, large-scale, and groundbreaking engineering and energy projects. In 2026, AVK was named one of the UK’s Best Managed Companies by Deloitte Private, recognising the strategy, culture, capability and financial performance behind the company’s growth.
The USD 1 billion investment marks the first external funding round in AVK’s 36-year history, underpinning the company’s continued growth as a European leader in prime, standby, and dispatchable power solutions. The investment strengthens AVK’s core business offering and heritage in mission-critical systems and allows the company to meet the market's clearest demand - speed to power - which has become a strategic imperative and differentiator for data centre and AI infrastructure operators globally. AVK's core business is backed by the new Haydock manufacturing facility in the North West of England and a team of nearly 400 people across ten hubs in the UK and Europe.
Ben Pritchard retains a significant shareholding and continues as Chief Executive Officer, alongside the existing leadership team, who remain in place across the business.
Ben Pritchard, Chief Executive Officer, at AVK, said: “Speed-to-power is now a defining opportunity for European data centre operators. Our new partnership with Partners Group will allow us to meet our customers exactly where the market demands. From the moment we launched our first microgrid, we recognised the challenge and the opportunity facing developers and operators globally. By adding capital to our power solutions portfolio, we can turn speed-to-power from an ambition into action. I am excited to lead AVK into this new chapter alongside Partners Group, leveraging the firm's deep operational expertise in the data centre sector and power markets.”
Tom Smith, Managing Director at Arrowpoint Advisory, concluded: “We are delighted to have advised AVK, the Pritchard family and the wider management team on this landmark transaction. The deal directly addresses one of the defining challenges in the European data centre market — the lengthening grid connection queues that are constraining capacity growth. By combining AVK's engineering expertise with the capital commitments of Partners Group, the business is uniquely positioned to offer a genuine one-stop shop for data centre power solutions, spanning everything from standby power to on-site generation. More broadly, M&A activity across the data centre value chain is a theme we are seeing again and again, with record levels of inbound interest in high-quality assets in the space. We are proud to have played a role in it.”
