Cybit Group divests Cybit Cyber, its enterprise-focused cybersecurity division, to Viatel

Arrowpoint Advisory’s Cyber Security sector team has advised Cybit Group, a leading provider of data intelligence and AI-driven technology solutions, on the successful divestment of its cybersecurity division, Cybit Cyber (formerly Cyphra), to Viatel Technology Group Limited, a leading digital services provider headquartered in Dublin.

With over 30 years’ experience, Cybit Cyber partners with global leaders such as Palo Alto Networks, F5 Networks, Check Point, Qualys and Fortinet to deliver a comprehensive suite of security solutions including managed services and technical consultancy to enterprise and public sector organisations. A highly regarded Palo Alto partner, Cybit Cyber has been honoured with their ‘Partner of the Year Award’ for five consecutive years.

Viatel is the trusted go-to technology partner for mid-market and enterprise organisations. With over 28 years of proven performance, Viatel Technology Group is a Platinum Deloitte Best Managed Company and sets the benchmark for expert Microsoft Solutions Partners.

This strategic move reflects Cybit Group’s sharpened focus on delivering tailored technology solutions and managed services across data intelligence, AI, hybrid cloud, modern workspace, and security to the mid-market corporate and SME segment. The divestment enables both Cybit Group and Cybit Cyber to pursue growth strategies best aligned with their respective markets and customer needs.

Cybit Group and Cybit Cyber will continue to collaborate where opportunities arise, ensuring continuity and value for customers and partners across both organisations.

James Hunnybourne, Executive Chair of Cybit, commented: “This decision marks a significant milestone in Cybit’s evolution. By focusing our efforts on our core mid-market strategy, we are better positioned to deliver innovation and value to our customers. We are proud of the legacy and expertise built within Cybit Cyber and are confident that under Viatel’s leadership, the team will continue to thrive. We remain committed to supporting our customers, partners, and employees throughout this transition and look forward to future collaboration opportunities.”

Paul Rellis, CEO of Viatel Technology Group, added: “We are delighted to welcome Cybit Cyber into the Viatel family. Its deep expertise in enterprise-grade cybersecurity perfectly complements our existing capabilities and strengthens our position as a trusted digital transformation partner. This acquisition reinforces our commitment to delivering secure, scalable, and innovative solutions to businesses across Ireland and beyond.”
